PSA Mobile 4.0.5 – Maintenance Release - coming soon!

 

PSA Mobile 4.0.5 – Maintenance Release -

Canam Systems is happy to announce an important maintenance release for our Smart Tech Mobile App. Version 4.0.5 will soon be released to App stores for your users to download. Expected Official Release Date is March 31st 2019 but is determined by Apple and the Google Play store, pending their approvals.

The fixes we have included in this release are :

  • Error handling to prevent problems to sync time cards with slow connections.
  • Added functionality to rebuild the database automatically when new version is detected - preventing users having to reinstall the app.

This latest version of our Mobile App will require users to download the PSA Smart Tech Mobile App from either the Apple Store or Google Play Store the app.

IMPORTANT NOTE: This is a pre-release to our Mobile version 4.2, and is not to be confused with the next major version due out the 3rd week in April.  A list of those new features will be coming shortly.

  • We recommend that users turn off their Auto-update features on their devices and Manually perform the update. 
  • Users need to ensure that they have completed a sync Prior to installing PSA Smart Tech Mobile App version 4.0.5.  as information not synced may not transfer to the new version of the app.

If you have any issues, please report them to support@canamsys.com BEFORE doing the update. Data Loss, including time cards could be affected.

To install the latest version of the PSA Smart Tech Mobile App go to either Google Play or the Apple App Store and search for PSA Mobile App to check for availability.

  • Add new Mail-Merge feature
  • On the Work Order section-> Create Attachment button->a popup dialog the value of the Show Cost drop down should be set according to the value set in Company Settings
  • Changed from date to today on the Time Card Approval report
  • Improve performance on the Actual Cost report
  • Fixes to the Actual Cost report showing correct amounts.
  • Fix do not delete customers in PSA inactive in QB desktop
  • Fix on the More Floods feature for Year Built structure to on allow numeric entries
  • Fix on the “Transfer time card automatically at end of period” checkbox in Company Settings disappear after Save and appears after page refresh
  • Fix on the Employee schedule “All Day” events, therefore, it shows up at the top of the calendar, which made it difficult to view the tasks that are scheduled at specific times on the same day.
  • Apply a warning message when trying to remove all time card approval setup records, thus go back to transfer process from approval, if there are time cards in the Posted time card periods not fully approved

FEB 1 2018 - Release notes - QuickBooks Desktop and PSA Web Sync Update -

Expected Release Date" Feb 1, 2019

Due to feedback from many of our customers, the following changes will be implemented. 

NOTE:  This update will only affect companies using PSAWEB and Quickbooks DESKTOP versions only !!.

Sync of Job Address and Contact Method Data on “Updates”

The following list of job information will continue to sync as it has been, when a New Job is created in PSA Web or QuickBooks Desktop, and these items will sync both ways .    The revised sync functionality will no longer sync between QB or PSA Web when an update/edit is done to job phone, email or job address information.  

Update #1 - New Job Created– will sync as current existing process works.

Update #2 - Job Inactive and Job Closed Status

 A QuickBooks Customer or Job being marked as “Inactive” will no longer “Close” the job or Delete/Inactivate the Customer in PSA Web.  

A QuickBooks Customer or Job being marked as “Active”, if it had been previously inactivated will no longer “Open” the job in PSA Web. 

“Closing” a Job (with Close button)  in PSA Web will no longer sync to QuickBooks Desktop and mark this Customer or Job as “Inactive.”

Update # 3 - Handling of job address information if one customer has over 50 jobs

Job Ship To Addresses will sync from PSA Web to QuickBooks on creation of jobs, until 50 jobs (ship to addresses) exist in QuickBooks.  Due to limitation in QuickBooks, additional jobs over limit of 50 for one customer will have to be manually updated with job address information.
